Kandi Signs With Asylum

From multi-platinum albums to Grammy Award winning songs to a top rated and 2010 NAACP nominated TV show: KANDI BURRUSS, formerly of platinum-selling R&B group Xscape and presently a cast member of the hit TV show The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA), has signed a deal with Asylum Records through her label, Kandi Koated Entertainment, to release her yet untitled new full length CD this spring.
The new album promises not to disappoint as KANDI wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on the disc and production was done by Jazze Pha, Nitti, Drumma Boy, KP and Malay, Blac Elvis, and Kuya Productions to name a few. Guest features include new label mate Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Rasheeda, and her sister from Xscape, Tiny.
"I am so excited to be working with Asylum on my new release. They loved the music I delivered. Having my own label, Kandi Koated Entertainment, has afforded me the ability to really be true to my craft, sharing my total self with my fans. That's what music should be about."
KANDI has already seen success with the TOP 10 Drumma Boy-produced iTunes hit "Fly Above," which, according to Kandi, is "an anthem that will inspire anyone who is dealing with issues to 'fly above' the drama." One of the RHOA episodes is centered around Kandi's return to the stage with a performance of "Fly Above." The single was also featured on the hot blog site Concrete Loop and has garnered great reviews by listeners. One listener said "Kandi has some serious range to her voice!!! The song is hot!!" while another stated "Luv Kandi she is fearless!!! Voice on point!"
In addition to recently putting out her own EP, the #1 charting iTunes Hit, Kandi Koated Entertainment Presents The Fly Above EP, KANDI is featured on the hit single "Try It Out" by Big Bank Black and the new video for the song was recently shot in Atlanta. The single has been heating up Atlanta radio for some time now and has landed on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop charts. "Tardy For the Party," the catchy RHOA track she revamped for co-star Kim Zolciak reached TOP 10 on the iTunes Dance chart upon its release.
KANDI made a name for herself in the music business when she was a teenager performing with the hit girl group Xscape on Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Records. After the group disbanded Kandi went on to write a Grammy Award winning song for TLC ("Scrubs") and gave Destiny's Child a #1 hit with "Bills, Bills, Bills" which led her to writing for superstar acts such as Pink, Usher, Whitney Houston, and Alicia Keys to name a few. In addition, Kandi is a consummate businesswoman. She recently opened up TAGS, a new boutique, in her hometown of Atlanta. Kandi's star is steadily rising, she recently hosted a tweet and meet party where more than a thousand fans showed up to greet her.
Go 'head Kandi
